Our Story

Built for people who love going to the movies.

Beacon Theatres was founded on a simple idea: going to the movies should feel like going somewhere. Not just somewhere to watch a film, but somewhere worth getting dressed for, worth lingering after the credits, worth telling someone about the next morning.

We started with a single multiplex in Saratoga Springs, New York — and over time, we've expanded to two more locations, each designed around a different way to experience a movie. A modern multiplex for the everyday. A premium dine-in for the occasion. A family entertainment center for the celebration.

Three locations, one brand, and the same conviction at every screen: the lights going down should still feel like something.

What We Believe

Three principles, one cinema

Every Beacon location looks different, but they're all built on the same set of ideas about what going to the movies should feel like.

Hospitality leads the way

Every interaction matters — the greeting at the door, the timing of the popcorn, the bartender who remembers your last drink. We hire for warmth and train for craft, in that order.

The film is the point

Everything we do — the seat you sit in, the food you order, the bar you visit before the show — exists to support the movie itself. Nothing should compete with what's on screen.

Built for our communities

We choose markets we want to belong to, hire from the neighborhoods we serve, and program for the people who actually live there. We're a regional cinema by design, not by default.

Why Beacon

"A beacon is something you can see from a long way off. Something that pulls you toward it."

The name came from a marquee. The kind that lights up against a darkening sky and tells you, from a few blocks away, that something's happening tonight. We wanted a brand that felt like that — visible, warm, inviting, worth the trip.

Every Beacon location carries that idea forward. The signage glows. The lobby lights pull you in. The doors open onto something you can't get at home, no matter how big your TV is.
